Steven Fromholz has a new website home!
First Party for the new Cd release "Texas Trilogy Goes to G'Nashville" was held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at The Bosque Collection in Meridian, Texas -- and was a huge success! Thanks so much to those of you who came and shared the evening with us -- we appreciate your support and interest! The Bosque Collection Board of Directors and Manager, Ruth Crawford were so generous with their time and efforts which made this evening truly memorable. Thanks you folks!
If it appears we've been skipping all over the internet with websites -- you're right! We've been looking for just the right fit for what we want to do with this site and hopefully -- and we believe -- we've finally found it! This site also has a companion site called www.texastrilogy.com and that's where we'll focus on Steven's music -- both then and now and include a blog -- y'all check it out when you have time and input a little opinion, memories or whatever's on your mind on the blog page -- we'd love to hear from you.
Now, for the latest and greatest news we've had in a long time -- Steven's new CD "Texas Trilogy Goes to G'Nashville" is released and for sale and we think y'all are gonna love it. A lot of you have requested some of Steven's earlier tunes that have -- up until now -- only been available on LPs (remember those?) We've kept promising everyone who emailed that request to us and we're finally fulfilling that promise as that's exactly what this CD is. Some of you will remember these tunes -- those of you that requested them -- and they'll be brand new to others. All the songs on the CD are re-mastered from the original (so if you want to hear it like you remember it then it'll work for you) -- and this CD sounds great! The first cut is a tune Steven wrote to honor the late Hondo Crouch of Luckenbach, Texas fame. Steven and Willie Nelson do a great duo on this most unusual novelty tune appropriately called "Hondo's Song." It was very briefly available on a single but never really got a chance to see the light of day.
For those of you who have repeatedly requested "Yellow Cat" -- it's on the CD. Some of you may recall the late John Denver covered "Yellow Cat" not too long after Steven wrote it -- and dear hearts, that's been a few years back? Lots of folks have requested the spiritual tune on this CD "A Little More Holy." Although Steven's written other gospel-type music - this particular song seems to get the most attention. "Lovely Ladies Past" is a great tune -- also one of our favorites -- and it made the cut -- think you'll like it, too. The picture below is how this CD looks -- thanks to the super art work of George Brainard, artist and photographer extraordinaire who hangs his hat in Austin, Texas. Steven says George is the "official Fromholz family photographer" and it's real easy to see why -- the man don't make no mistakes! We'd suggest if you want some elegant, unusual and artistic photography done George Brainard is the go-to guy to get that done www.georgebrainard.com. Here's a peek at the new CD and we've got ordering info following the picture -- we ordered a limited number so the time to order is now! Also, if you'd like to be added to Steven's mailing list (so you know what's happening when/where) just click on this link friends of steven fromholz and give us a bit of info -- walla, you're on the list!
